Thanks to all of you for your cooperation while we take precautions against H1N1.  If your child has flu-like symptoms, please keep your child at home until at least 24 hours have passed fever free (100 degrees F) without the use of fever reducing products like Tylenol.  At school, door knobs, restrooms, and classrooms are being cleaned daily with appropriate germ killing chemicals. We are taking preventive measures and practicing common sense with hand washing and encouraging good hygiene.

There are more nut allergies than ever at before at Gulf Shores Elementary. For classrooms that have a student with a severe peanut allergy, we are asking that students not bring any peanut products to school as a snack or lunch.  The rest of our student population should be aware that we have some children who suffer from a life threatening allergy to nut products even from just casual exposure which includes smelling these products or even touching a door knob or water fountain with nut byproduct residue.  Thank you for cooperation.
